Fira is a vibrant soul from Indonesia and her personality type is ENFP. Fira is driven and always striving for excellence. She also makes sure to carry each day with positive energy and attitude. One fun fact about Fira is that she has very vivid dreams. When she isn't studying for exams or working with Dr. Solene Lejosne on radiation belt dynamics, you can find Fira dancing, reading, and taking videos. We are so proud of you Fira and appreciate all of your contributions to SSL.

Summer may have ended, but the fun is only just be Summer may have ended, but the fun is only just beginning at SSL. We would like to highlight another hard-working undergraduate working at SSL, Allen Maung.  He works with the LEAPFROG Group (https://leapfrog.isi.edu/). Allen is a great contributor and researcher. Allen considers himself an overachiever who is not afraid to be himself in front of those who he has never even known. At SSL, we love and appreciate our students who are undeniably themselves. Thank you Allen!

Another one of our amazing SSL undergrads is Kush Another one of our amazing SSL undergrads is Kush Maheshwari, who is a fourth-year student majoring in applied math and astrophysics. Assisting with data analysis of the Magnetospheric MultiScale (MMS) mission and others, Kush wants Cal students to know that 'there are opportunities to do really neat things, and SSL accepts a diverse set of majors. Also, there may be opportunities for pay!" (and who doesn't love to get paid?). Also, he relates to Linguini from Ratatouille; “Wonderful movie!" If you ever need a mean cup of masala chai or someone to talk to about MMS, Kush is your guy!

Happy summer, fans of SSL! We want to give a shou Happy summer, fans of SSL! 
We want to give a shout out to another one of our brilliant undergrads working at SSL: Thanh Tran. Thanh (he/him) is a fourth-year majoring in EECS. He was born in Vietnam and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. When he isn't working at the lab on the LEAPFROG project*, you can catch him searching for new and interesting parks and other recreational areas. (*LEAPFROG stands for Lunar Entry and Approach Platform for Research on Ground. LEAPFROG includes a software challenge through a simulation followed by a vehicle-building boot camp for the top teams across the country. The competition will be held starting May 2021.

One very hard-working and appreciated undergraduat One very hard-working and appreciated undergraduate researcher at SSL is physics major Shreya Nagpal. Shreya is part of the ICON mission team researching the phenomena at the boundary between Earth’s atmosphere and space. She’s also part of LEAPFROG, a national student competition to simulate an autonomous flying research vehicle on the Moon. More recently, she joined a new team creating education materials for a research project on the International Space Station looking at how gravity affects the immune system. When she is not at SSL or doing her school work, you can find her driving around in her cool Prius with the bumper sticker saying " 'Cool prius' -Nobody." She is also a competitive water polo player! Wow! Thank you for your contributions Shreya.

Savannah Sky Perez-Piel (she/her) is one of our ta Savannah Sky Perez-Piel (she/her) is one of our talented undergraduates who is building detectors for the FOXSI sounding rocket mission. Link to more information about FOXSI: http://foxsi.umn.edu/
She is friendly and engaging. Her study buddies are her two cats from shelters: Nova and Nygma. She joined SSL as a transfer student who was super interested in Solar Physics and jumped at the chance to be involved at SSL.
